Arendtsville is a borough in Adams County, Pennsylvania. The borough lies on Pennsylvania Route 234 and it is well known for its annual Apple Harvest Festival in the fall. The population was 952 at the 2010 census. The borough is located near South Mountain, the northern extension of the Blue Ridge Mountain Range. Arendtsville was named for John Arendt, an early settler.

Arendtsville had one National Bank chartered during the Bank Note Era, and it issued National Bank Notes.

In March 1908, an order was made to allow the trustees of Zion's Reformed Church of Arendtsville to sell a lot of ground to the National Bank of Arendtsville. On May 18, 1908, the Acting Comptroller of the Currency, Thomas P. Kane, authorized the bank to commence business. The bank opened on Tuesday, September 7th with deposits for the day of $7,152.00.

In January 1909, The following directors were elected: S. Gilbert Bucher, president; Dr. W.E. Wolff, vice president; David T. Koser, James C. Cole, Arthur Roberts, G. Frank Smith, and Robert H. Shull.

On Wednesday Night, November 3, 1915, an attempt was made to rob the bank. However, the burglars were frightened away by the approach of two men, Raymond Nary and Philip Hartzell, and escaped in an automobile. The robbers had drilled a hole in the door lock preparatory to blowing the same to gain entrance to the bank. Blankets were stolen from the garage of Dr. William E. Wolff to muffle the sound of the explosion.
