Dallastown is a borough in York County, Pennsylvania. It was named after George M. Dallas of Philadelphia (Vice President of the United States during the Polk administration) during the presidential campaign of 1844. Dallastown was incorporated April 1866. In 2010 the population was 4,049. In 1900, the population was 1,181 and increased to 2,849 by 1930.

Dallastown had one National Bank chartered during the Bank Note Era, and it issued National Bank Notes.

In January 1923, stockholders elected the following directors: John C. Heckert, W.H. Raab, W.H. Peters, S.A. Barshinger, H.G. Stabley, Jacob Taylor, James W. Raab, S.W. Kohler, Urias Innerst, Noah Innerst, Jr., H.L. Spatz, H.W. Spatz, A.E. Bupp, Mathias Reigart, H.L. Shearer, Elmer Strickler, James McDowell, Milton Wineka. Officers elected were J.C. Heckert, president, W.H. Raab, vice president; O.W. Reachard, cashier; C.E. Ness, assistant cashier; Earl Shatto, bookkeeper; W.H. Stabley, janitor; W.B. Gemmill, attorney.

Effective December 29, 1931 at noon, The Union State Bank of Dallastown was consolidated with the First National Bank and Trust Company of Dallastown. Dr. C.W. Frey was president and C.G. Grim was cashier of the Union State Bank. Directors of the First National were J.C. Heckert, W.H. Raab, Wilton Wineka, S.A. Barshinger, Allen E. Bupp, S.W. Kohler, C.S. Snyder, Charles N. Bohn, John H. Stump, Henry W. Spatz, Jacob Taylor, Urias Inners, Henry S. Shearer, Noah Inners, Fred E. Druck, James McDowell, H.R. Sprenkle, and J.W. Minnich.

In January 1940, Thomas E. Steffey was elected President. He succeeded H.M Raab who died during the year. Harvey Zeigler was chosen vice president, taking the place of H.W. Spatz who was not a candidate. Other officers were retained as follows: O.W. Reachard, cashier; C.E. Ness, assistant cashier; R.L. Shearer, teller; and W.L. Sechrist, bookkeeper. New directors were William Gibson, Wilmot Raab, and Thomas E. Steffey. Directors re-elected were S.A. Barshinger, Allen E. Bupp, S.W. Kohler, John N. Stump, Henry W. Spatz, Jacob Taylor, Henry S. Shearer, Fred E. Druck, James McDowell, H.R. Sprenkle, and Harvey Zeigler.

On June 18, 1942, sale of the First National Bank and Trust Company to the First National Bank of York was approved by stockholders at Dallastown. O.W. Reachard, cashier, said the decision meant all deposits, the bank building and equipment were acquired by the York bank which intended to establish a branch bank in the building. The First National Bank of York had a branch bank in New Freedom for the previous five years.
