George Carey Sellers (September 24, 1870 – June 15, 1935) was President of the First National Bank of Wellston, OH.


Biography

Early life and family

George Carey Sellers was born September 24, 1870 in Highland County, OH.[1]

On November 23, 1896, Sellers married Mary Elizabeth Motty. [2]

Banking career

In 1889, Sellers became the Secretary of the the Citizens Building and Loan in Wellston. He held this position for 45 years. [3]

Seller served many roles at the First National Bank of Wellston including clerk, bookkeeper, assistant cashier, cashier and finally president upon the death of H. S. Willard Sr. in 1919. [4]

In 1902, Sellers was listed as Assistant Cashier for First National Bank of Wellston, OH. [5]

In 1921, Sellers was listed as President of the First National Bank of Wellston. [6]

In 1906, Sellers was listed as a Republican member of the Board of Tax Commissioners for Wellston, OH. [7]

Later life and death

Mr. Sellers passed away on June 15, 1935 in Wellston, OH, and is buried there at Ridgewood Cemetery.[8]
