York Springs is a borough in Adams County, Pennsylvania. York Springs' previous names were York Sulphur Springs and Petersburg. The population was 833 at the 2010 census. In 1900 the population was 352 and in 1930 it was 318.

York Springs was platted as Petersburg within Latimore Township. York Sulphur Springs, the first summer resort in Adams County, was patronized by people from Philadelphia and Baltimore who came to the resort by stage coach. General George Washington and his wife Martha visited the area in the summer of 1799. The water was regarded as medicinal but unpalatable. Analysis claimed 20 parts Epsom salts, 6 parts gypsum, 4 parts common salt, and the balance sulfur.

York Springs had one National Bank chartered during the Bank Note Era, and it issued National Bank Notes.

At the close of business on July 31, 1969, the First National Bank of York Springs merged into Adams County National Bank. Adams County National Bank operated six banking offices known as the Gettysburg Office, North Gettysburg Office, Littlestown Office, McSherrystown Office, East Berlin Office and now the York Springs Office. The directors were Wilbur A. Bankert, Franklin R. Bigham, Ralph D. Bowman, Guy E. Bream, Nevaeh A. Crouse, Thomas F. Devine, C.F. Ditzler, J.C. Donley, W.E. Flickinger, Paul B. Fox, Ira E. Snyder, H.D. Sumpman, W.M. Weidner, and R.D. Wickerham.
