Liverpool is a borough located in the northeast corner of Perry County, Pennsylvania. The borough's population was 955 at the 2010 census.

Liverpool is located along the Susquehanna River and U.S. Routes 11 and 15 at the eastern terminus of Pennsylvania Route 17.  The borough is about a 45 mile drive to Harrisburg.

One of the Pennsylvania Canal's navigations, the Susquehanna Canal Division created a navigable channel 41 miles along the west bank of the Susquehanna River between a lock terminus near the mouth of the Juniata River at Duncannon and the canal basin at Northumberland. The Main Line of Public Works was devised to connect Philadelphia to Pittsburgh, southern New York, northern Pennsylvania and Lake Erie using most of the far reaches of the Susquehanna's tributaries.  The engineering needs of the Susquehanna Canal, were modest in comparison to many contemporary projects, and construction was timed after other more difficult projects in the system were well under way. The Susquehanna Division Canal employed 12 locks overcoming a total of just 86 feet  in elevation change in its 41 miles. It was begun in 1827 and was finished in 1831. Liverpool was a port about mid way between Harrisburg and Northumberland.  The canal operated up until about 1900 when floods and traffic diverted to rail sealed the fate of most of the system.

Liverpool had one National Bank chartered during the Bank Note Era, and it issued National Bank Notes.
